Course Coordinator
The Role
The American University of Yangon is currently seeking a full time course coordinator. The responsibilities of this position include coordination between faculties, students and courses pf the American transfer program and associate external programs, as well as working with students and the program team from the point of well rounded-education experiences.
Responsibilities
Course Planning and Academic Coordination
Work collaboratively with the Program Office to plan the courses each term with the consultation of the senior faculty
Course planning and co-teaching
Conduct course evaluations, and make recommendations to the Executive Board and Programs Team regarding potential improvements to textbooks, materials, and quality;
Ensure program quality and work together with the program team for the term scheduling, term faculty, transfer, visa session and student life experience
Ensure effective communication between Faculty, Staff, and Students;
Work with the Executive Team and U.S. University Partners to strategically plan changes and improvements to the program;
In collaboration with the program team, place students into classes based on student academic background and classes previously taken, while accommodating special cases;
Work with the Articulation Officer to advise students on the transfer process and ensure successful completion of the program;
Liaise with our admissions team in education seminars and events
Monitor student attendance with the assistance of Program Associates and Teaching Assistants to ensure students and parents are notified if their absences surpass the typical limit;
Monitor student behavior and carry out disciplinary procedures when students breech school rules;
Work with the Program Team, Campus Team, and Faculty to create semester timetables and yearly academic calendars.

Native or near-native English speaker
Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum requirement, preferably from a U.S. university
Demonstrated interest and experience in American higher education systems and policies
Experience working in an international and/or multicultural setting
Positive, cooperative personality and ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team
Open-minded and dynamic
Highly motivated self-starter
Ability to problem-solve in a high stress environment
Boosts
At least 2 years of experience in a management role, preferably in education
Experience working with adolescents (ages 16-20)
Experience in a liberal arts environment
Experience with online platforms such as Slack, Trello, G Suite, etc.
Desire to innovate and create change within a dynamic organization
