Internship and Career Services Coordinator

(Expats/ Repats/ Local Residents) (Status: Accepting applications)

Internship and Career Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting the educational and occupational growth of students by developing and delivering comprehensive student internship and career development services. We are currently in search of a dedicated and experienced Coordinator to spearhead the development and management of our dynamic internship program. In this role, the Coordinator will play a crucial part in the recruitment of talented interns, establishing strong partnerships with local colleges and universities, and coordinating intern assignments to ensure mutually beneficial experiences.

Delivery: On campus

Frequency: 8 hours, 5 days a week

Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching and advice to students regarding career exploration and development of professional skills in preparation for internship experience

  • Serve as a resource and mentor to interns throughout their internship program, providing guidance and support as needed

  • Advise students on the requirements to register for academic internships

  • Serve as a liaison with companies listing internships with co-op program

  • Build partnerships with organizations that can provide internships for students

  • Conduct employer outreach to increase the number of internship opportunities available

  • Collect and maintain internship participation data and provide reports for stakeholders

  • Conduct career preparation workshops and advise students on various aspects of entering the world of career, including writing and interviewing skills

  • Monitor quality of placements and conduct site visits to current and potential internship sites to evaluate appropriateness and relevance of learning/work environments

  • Coordinate job placement with employers, conduct in-progress assessment of student success in the work environment

  • Evaluate the total work experience of interns, primarily through the use of surveys and follow-up interviews/meetings

  • Develop and implement career services activities within the university

  • Provide career counseling services and advices in career planning and career-related decisions for students and alumni

  • Develop, plan and conduct internship workshops and information programs

  • Develop an internship manual and promotional materials and update them as needed

  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of the internship programs

  • Train and supervise student staff

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Master’s degree is preferred

  • Candidates who have studied abroad, preferably in the US

Experience:

  • Strong preference to individuals with previous experience in cooperative education, career services, recruitment, or other service areas at the college/university level

  • Work experience in sales, marketing or human resources environment is desired

  • At least 2 years of experience in a business or office setting

  • Strong organizing, written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail, a motivated/enthusiastic work style with proactive working attitude

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Must possess sufficient experience in a collegiate environment to understand the academic culture and must have the ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, parents, and administrators

  • Familiarity with corporate and nonprofit human resources management

  • Experience in presentation of workshops or public speaking

  • Must be a self-starter and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and social media platforms
