  • Instructors

    We of the American University of Yangon are looking for an instructor who can teach one of the courses listed below. Candidates must hold a Masters or Ph.D. degree from a reputable university or have extensive teaching experience in the relevant field and also have to be in Yangon as the course will be delivered in person. 

    Candidates must hold a TESOL or CELTA certificate for the English Preparation course. The courses are offered in the International Studies Program in General Education at the American University of Yangon. 

    Responsibilities of the instructor include, but are not limited to, course planning, student advising, interacting with students outside of class, holding office hours, developing curricula and syllabi. The courses will be offered in September, 2022 to December, 2022.

    The title and course description is as follow:

    ENG 20, Introduction to Literature, 4 credits

    Literary appreciation and criticism will be encouraged through reading and close written analysis of short stories, selections from novels, drama, and poetry from diverse Western and non-Western cultures.

    CSCI 5, Computer and Applications, 3 credits

    This is an introductory Computer Science class designed to give students a background in the development of computers as well as extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Office software and support in completing written assignments being done in other content-based studies. It is expected that students will complete chapter assignments and will have time in class to work on other class writing and research assignments.

    TOEFL ITP Preparation

    It is a English-proficiency test and uses academic and social content to evaluate English skills of nonnative English speakers. The test evaluates skills in 3 areas: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression and Reading Comprehension.

  • Associate Academic Coordinator

    We are looking for an Associate Academic Coordinator to work together with the program team. This position is open to the former students/alumni of American University of Yangon as well as candidates with American education background.
